Join us for a powerful gathering celebrating Detroit through poetry, community, and creative expression on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Hosted by Detroit Poet Laureate jessica Care moore, this Detroit Love Haiku Open Mic invites the city to honor the spirit of 313 in the most intentional way—through words.

The evening begins at 8:00 PM with special guest poets setting the tone, offering original haiku dedicated to the heart and soul of Detroit. This experience is a love letter to the city in just 17 syllables—only poems about Detroit will take the mic. After the featured readings, the mic opens to you. Share your voice, your story, your love for the city through the art of haiku.

Throughout the evening, guests will also have the opportunity to step into the studio and record their haiku as part of the “Detroit Love” project. This is more than an open mic—it’s a living archive of the city’s spirit. We need your voice.
