Join us for DECLARATION: A Celebration of the Worlds We Are Building on July 3, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Woodside Shelter, Belle Isle, Woodside Drive, Detroit, MI 48207, United States. Hosted by Spokescouncil Detroit, this all-ages community gathering invites participants to reflect on what they are declaring independence from and the future they are committed to building as the United States marks its 250th anniversary.

The event will feature food, games, a photo booth, collaging, interactive art-making, and other creative activities, creating space for connection, imagination, and community engagement. Through shared experiences and artistic expression, attendees will have opportunities to explore collective visions for a more just, connected, and equitable future.

Spokescouncil Detroit, a formation that supports information-sharing and coordination across organizations and movements throughout the Detroit ecosystem, presents this celebration as an opportunity to gather, build relationships, and envision the worlds we are creating together. This event is free and open to people of all ages.
