On October 13th, Jenny Lee, LOVE Building Interim Director, took park in the Community Rooted Development event as part of the AMP Seeds Speaker Series. The wide-reaching conversation included Malik Yakini of the Detroit Black Community Food Security Network and Erik Howard of The Alley Project. Moderated by Ryan Myers-Jhonson of Sidewalk Detroit, the event explored questions such as, “How can organizers and community builders respond in the face of rapid gentrification and exploitative development?
