The LOVE Building and WDET Partner with Gilbert Family Foundation to Launch CONTAINER, a New Platform to Elevate Detroit Creatives
The Gilbert Family Foundation, in partnership with The LOVE Building and WDET, has launched CONTAINER, a dynamic multimedia initiative designed to spotlight 12 Detroit-based creatives each season. With a $250,000 grant from the Foundation, CONTAINER supports artists working in music, fashion, visual arts, and food by providing access to platforms, immersive showcases, and strategic support.
The program includes high-impact LOVE@Nite events, a mobile shipping container venue that travels across Detroit, and digital storytelling produced by WDET. Creatives are selected through both curated and public nomination processes, ensuring broad community involvement.
By investing in visibility and long-term opportunity, CONTAINER aims to strengthen Detroit’s creative economy and honor the city’s rich cultural legacy.
